Men marched and shouted slogans, dressed in black
Told stories of the greedy, grasping Jew.
Spread lies and fear, inciting an attack
On all that’s different. This is nothing new.
The Roma people know this all too well
By hard-right cant they’ve been intimidated
And driven out, their lives a living hell.
The pattern could have been anticipated:
When times are hard, we seek someone to blame
Hard times create divisions among races.
And every time it happens, it’s the same.
We tread on those with boot prints on their faces.
But, BBC, you really thought it best
To say of this that there was “no unrest”?
